PIt Bull Cross - Rescue One Any Day!

Two very special Pit Bull crosses, both rescued from the SPCA. Jagger (RIP 2009), “The Best Dog Ever” and Dog Dylan. Dog Dylan is an amazing dog and been through far more than anyone would ever want for their dog. Although Jagger always will have a special place in my heart, she changed my life, so Dylan will as well. Dylan and I have fought for life together, let go of our control and Jagger was there with us as Dylan decided [More…]

Your Dog Has Been Taken By The Law! What is Normal Behavior Now?

What would you expect from your dog, or any normal dog if some stranger in a uniform came into your home and into your personal space, leaned over you and grabbed you, took you from that home with your family and the love you were used to and placed you in a small cage and took you away from them in a strange vehicle to a strange place.  Then they put you in another cage, albeit a little larger, but likely with [More…]

Dog Dylan: Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia, The First Battle to Save Her Life – Riding the Roller Coaster

Dog Dylan’s story continued with us riding on the hard rails of her roller coaster, headed directly and most surely for her first brush with death.  Anxiety and uncertainty reigned in my head and followed a night without sleep with all kinds of thoughts racing thorough my head.  Life with a very sick dog, life without Dylan, could I make a tough decision, did I have the energy for this?  What could “I” do, what did I need to do, did I [More…]

The Use of Fear Flooding in Dogs and Dog Training

We face fear flooding all the time in normal life as people.  Every time we do something new.  Maybe it is the first time you take your new puppy to puppy class, or maybe that first Dog Agility Trial.  How good you are at handling stress of this nature will certainly impact how easily and quickly you adapt to the circumstances around you.  This is also true of your dog and in fact, if they sense the apprehension in you, it will [More…]

Getting through Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia: From My Heart for My AIHA/IMHA Friends and for All Dogs!

Today I have made some new friends once again. Great dog lovers for sure. Unfortunately, once again these new friends are from our common bond of fighting for the lives of our beloved dogs. It is our love of our dogs that bonds us. Our need to fight and help our dogs and the dogs of others like ours is strong. You cannot know what fighting this disease is like until you have seen it strike the energy and life from your [More…]

Dog Dylan: Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia, The First Battle to Save Her Life - Detection and Diagnosis

Dog Dylan’s story began March 18, 2011.  She was diagnosed with Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA)/Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA) , on March 19th, 2011; when my quest to save her and her second life as an AIHA survivor began. Life for us all here changed that Friday morning when I noticed that Dylan hesitated to eat her breakfast.  This was an alarm to me for sure, the anxiety I felt was immediate since she had not done so ever that I could recall. [More…]

Stress Free: Helping Your Dog See The World In a Better Way

You don’t have to look very far to see what stress can do in a dog.  I walk a mile around my neighborhood and I will face at least three dogs who bark and scream at me and my dogs with amazing intensity.  I often wonder how long it will be before they are in for a hernia. There are a few more who bark incessantly, but are not necessarily blowing a gasket to do so.  Then, in that same mile, there [More…]

Bullseye Dog Lover's Hall of Fame

So another addition to the Bullseye View is the Bullseye Dog Lover’s Hall of Fame. First class of inductees are: Amy Kuether, Anna Lupacchino, Dr. Jean Dodds. These are the ones I know for sure how they feel and how far they will go for their dog and anyone’s dog. Since March 19 2011, this is what my life has been about. I know there are many more of you. Some of you I may already know and I may know some [More…]

Dog Dylan Today - July 23, 2011

So what a great day!  Big smiles as we see a clear day, sunshine and no sign of AIHA! Today I sat outside enjoying a rare day of sunshine hanging out in my yard with my beautiful canine family. My dogs have had some exercise, except for Dylan who has only been out for a bit to say hello to our neighbors.  They all love the sun, but Dylan is more of an afternoon girl. She rarely goes out before 8 AM, [More…]
